Latest New Yorker Cover Zings Obama With Romney Debating...an Empty Chair

"Seemed like a proper response."

The latest cover of the New Yorker draws inspiration from President Barack Obama's disappointing debate performance against Republican rival Mitt Romney with Romney facing off at the podium against an empty chair.

Titled “One on One,” artist Barry Blitt said, “This image seemed like a proper response to the first presidential debate.”

"But I’m not sure I realized how hard it is to caricature furniture," he added.

The empty chair is of course a nod to actor Clint Eastwood's Republican National Convention routine when he pretended to have a conversation with Obama.
