The artist going by "Dito Von Tease" is described as "elusive." People may not know his face but they sure can recognize his finger. Well, maybe not his finger specifically, but at least the famous figures he Photoshops his finger into modeling.
My Modern Met, a website for "art enthusiasts and trendspotters," recently profiled the work called "Ditology" by the Italian artist. The name for the collection is appropriate given that "dito" is Italian for "finger." My Modern Met states that "fingerology" is ironic for Dito Von Tease given that fingerprints are often used as identifiers of individuals, but the artist has retained his own anonymity by only showing his finger.
This (below) is our only indication of how Dito has identified himself:
Among the many famous finger people that Dito Von Tease has created are Jesus, the Dalai Lama, Kiss, Frida Kahlo and Steve Jobs.
Dito Von Tease does animated characters and generalizations as well, including Shrek, Mickey Mouse, tattoos and a woman in a burqa.
Be sure to check out Dito Von Tease's blog to see more of his finger portraits here. He has done nearly 50 portraits in this style.
