Chris Matthews Suffers From On-Air 'Gas Attack' on MSNBC

'Excuse me..."

MSNBC host Chris Matthews had what is being described as a "gas attack" during his show on Friday.

During a segment on The New Republic report about the Mitt Romney campaign's internal polling numbers that had Romney leading in vital swing states, the "Hardball" host had his unexpected "gas attack."

"Excuse me -- I'm burping here," he said.

Newsbusters' Noel Sheppard points out that some of Matthews' critics have alleged that the host is sometimes drunk when he does his show on MSNBC. "His gas attack on Friday's Hardball will certainly add to this speculation," Sheppard writes.

Could Matthews have been drunk or was it something he ate?
