The Demo Videos for a New Water-Repelling Substance Are Amazing

It is anti-wetting, anti-corrosion, anti-icing, anti-contamination and self-cleaning. What sort of miracle substance could be all these things?

Ultra-Ever Dry is apparently a superhydrophobic and oleophobic substance that repels liquids like nothing else, according to its own claims and the demos shown in its videos.

Here's how these properties work for the product:

Superhydrophobic refers to a coating that exhibits superior water repelling properties that exceeds 150 degrees of contact angle when measuring the sphere of a drop of water on the surface. Ultra-Ever Dry creates an angle of 165-175 degrees. Well-known windshield water repellents are closer to 110 degrees and are only “hydrophobic”. Oleophobic refers to the ability to repel oil and other hydrocarbons.

Amazingly, it works on almost any material (steel, aluminum, other metals, plastic, leather, fabric, wood, concrete, etc.) as well.

This video showcases how effective it can be:

Here's how the novel product is applied:

The cost for the Ultra-Ever Dry ranges from $53 for one quart of the base coat and $96 for the top coat up to $905 for five gallons of the base coat and $1,689 for five gallons of the top coat.
