Conservative icon, rocker and passionate gun rights advocate Ted Nugent says that he killed 455 hogs with a machine gun from a helicopter in Texas last weekend for "Bill Maher and all those other animal rights freaks out there," according to RumorFix.

During an interview with SiriusXM's Brett Winterble, Nugent told the whole tale.

"I took my machine gun in the helicopter — in the Texas hill country – me and my buddy ‘Pigman’ … his name is ‘Pigman’ – I’m the swine czar. I killed 455 hogs with my machine gun. I did it for Bill Maher and all those other animal rights freaks out there," Nugent said.

Nugent, of course, didn't let all that pork go to waste. He said they "distributed tons of the most delicious pork to the soup kitchens and the homeless shelters of this state (Texas)."

"Everything we did was perfect," he added. "Win, win, win."

Mediaite's Matt Wilstein also points out that Nugent tweeted the following message back in January, indicating that helicopter pig hunting may be somewhat of a past-time for the 64-year-old.

Nugent says he fired off 750 rounds a minute to help the environment because wild pigs are known to destroy the region's natural habitat, according to RumorFix.

"Texas's feral hog population exceeds 1.5 million, according to the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department. That number continues to grow because of the animal's high reproduction potential and its limited natural predators," Huffington Post reports.

Nugent concluded, "I had to adjust my halo as I was machine-gunning hogs."
