Toddler Loses Both Legs After Father Ran Her Over With Lawn Mower

A Florida toddler has lost both her legs below the knee after her father accidentally ran her over with a lawn mower Wednesday night.

WFTS reported the Palm Harbor father, Jeremiah Nugent, on the riding mower making it all the way to the driveway before he realized what happened.

According to authorities, Nugent bringing the tractor into the garage when his wife told him he was about to drive over something. Putting the mower in reverse, he accidentally ran over the toddler. Another report said the mother tried to alert him but that he didn't hear her and kept going.

Both of the 2-year-old's ankles were cut off by the mower's blades. A hand was damaged as well but only part was removed.

WFTS reported police saying the girl was airlifted to a hospital in Tampa and that reattaching her feet was not possible. Firefighters had to treat the parents for hysteria.
