Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R) has a simple message for PTR Industries, the Connecticut-based gun manufacturer that said it plans to leave the state following the passage of new gun legislation: "Come on down!"
Perry tweeted a link Friday to a news story about the gun-maker's announcement, in which they said their industry is "threatened" as long as they remain in the state.
"Hey PTR," Perry wrote. "Texas is still wide open for business!! Come on down!"

Speaking to reporters Friday, Perry said he wanted "to send a message that Texas is wide open for business, whether you're a weapons manufacturer or whether you're a tubular steel manufacturer," Reuters reported.
"There is still a place for freedom that is very much alive and well," he added. "That place is called Texas."
