Watch: Raving Egyptian Cleric Calls on Allah to 'Annihilate' the Jews & 'Freeze the Blood in Their Veins
May 15, 2013
"Make their children orphans and their women widows, and shake the earth under their feet!"
The Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) has captured video from the Salafist Egyptian television channel Al-Hafez TV of an Egyptian cleric reportedly calling on Allah to torture and annihilate all the world's Jews.
Ranting and raving into a microphone as the crowd bows its head in what appears to be either deference or praise, the cleric Sami Abu Al-'Ala says (translation via MEMRI):
Oh Allah, make the conspiracies of the Jews their own ruin. Oh Allah, crush their soldiers and their weapons, destroy their homes, freeze the blood in their veins, disperse them, make their children orphans and their women widows, and shake the earth under their feet! Oh Allah, annihilate the Jews as you annihilated the peoples of 'Aad and Thamud. Oh Allah, make the Jews annihilate themselves.
Tensions between Egypt and Israel have escalated sharply since the so-called "Arab Spring" led to the installation of an Islamist government in Egypt.
