Really bad idea.
SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (TheBlaze/AP) -- A San Bernardino man has shot and critically wounded a man he says tried to attack him after breaking into a home.
The Riverside Press-Enterprise says it happened shortly before 11:30 p.m. Saturday.
Police say an intruder broke into a home that was being renovated on West Mill Street. A woman who lives in a rear house went to check on the property and was confronted by the intruder.
She began to scream and the man grabbed her. Police say the woman's father came to her aid and shot when the man tried to attack him.
Thirty-five-year-old Leonard Guerra of San Bernardino was taken to a hospital in critical but stable condition and booked on suspicion of burglary and false imprisonment.
"Guerra attempted to attack the father, at which time Guerra was shot once by the father," Sgt. Travis Walker said in a written statement.
Bottom line, he's really lucky to be alive.
