Watch a Blind Man Solve a 'Modified' Rubik's Cube

"Can't let the little things stop us from trying our hardest to make the world a better place."

For many, solving a Rubik's cube is a feat given up on within five minutes of trying. But Sameer Doshi sets himself apart not only welcoming the challenge but completing the task while blind.

Doshi, posting his accomplishment on Reddit, explained he lost his eyesight after cataracts surgery and a reaction to steroid drops. Within a few days he was blind and a few months later he found he had the equivalent of years of Glaucoma damage.

"Long story short, I'm blind until someone figures out how to regrow an optic nerve (and I feel ok with letting someone regrow something that touches my brain)," he wrote.

No longer being able to play games the way he had prior to losing his eyesight, Doshi explained how he modified a Rubik's cube "using velcro, plastic gems, and Dora-the-Explorer puffy stickers."

"Can't let the little things stop us from trying our hardest to make the world a better place," he said.

One redditor dubbed Doshi a "champion," to which his wife responded saying she had never heard him "be so proud before." Others seconded the comment saying "you are a champion" and another saying he "has more drive than any man I've met in person."

What's next?

"For my next challenge I'm going to run for, and win, a seat on the Illinois House of Representatives," he wrote.
