Pop Country Star Taylor Swift Leaves Massive Tip for Restaurant Staff After Concert
July 26, 2013
Generosity.
Pop music star Taylor Swift has in recent months (for reasons that are still kind of hazy) become the butt end of several online jokes:
Something about teenage girls incessantly talking about their relationships makes people want to – I don’t know – poke fun at them?
But, you know, unlike most pop stars, it appears Swift is actually a pretty kind person.
In fact, just last Friday the singer treated the staff of Ralph's Italian Restaurant in Philadelphia with free show tickets and a massive $500 tip following her gig at Lincoln Financial Field, according to Yahoo! Music.
Restaurant manger Edward Rubino said she was "very approachable" and an "amazing person."
He added that his kids are more into her music than he is ("I'm more into Ozzy, that's my generation"), but he confirmed the kind gesture.
The $500 tip was reportedly part of an $800 bill.
In return, Rubino picked up the tab for Swift's security team (they ate downstairs while Swift ate upstairs with her entourage).
So, when all is said and done, that’s a pretty cool story. Maybe the Internet should let the jokes rest for just a little bit.
