Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, will meet with real estate titan Donald Trump on Friday afternoon in New York City, Michael Cohen, a spokesman for the billionaire, confirmed.
With Trump being a vocal figure on the future of the Republican Party, the meeting stirs more speculation that Cruz may be gearing up for a 2016 presidential bid.
Cruz contacted Trump within the last month to arrange Friday's meeting, according to a source familiar with the plans. It's scheduled to take place at Trump Tower at 2 p.m. ET.
