Murder Suspect's Mug Shot Might Be the Scariest You'll Ever See

South Carolina resident David Adam Pate, 24, is accused of murdering his friend and leaving his body in the woods for neighborhood children to find.

And his mugshot is horrifying enough to match the heinous crime.

Pate can be seen slightly smirking while sticking out his forked tongue, which was reportedly surgically split. He also has several tattoos on his face, including "SATAN" over one eye and the numbers "974" on his neck to reference the street gang Gangster Disciples.

Police believe Pate took his friend, Ricky W. James, 33, into the woods near Lancaster, S.C., and killed him, WBTV reports. Playing children later found the decomposing body that had been covered with brush.

Investigators suspected Pate in the killing immediately, however, they had to wait for lab results in order to formally charge his as a murder suspect. He was reportedly already in jail for disorderly conduct as police built their case against him.

He was charged with Murder on Friday.

"We are thankful he is in jail where he belongs," Lancaster County Sheriff Barry Faile said.
