Dad Collaborates With Kids on Adorable Works of Art – They Draw, He Colors

"...it's great to see their faces when they see what I did with their drawings."

An adorable art project between a father and his children takes place once a month.

The kids draw an outline picture. Then, when dad hops on a plane for a 10-day business trip each month, he colors in the artwork, making it look like the child's drawing is part of an illustrated book.

"My kids draw me the occasional picture to take with me on my monthly work trips. I color them on the plane, and when I return it's great to see their faces when they see what I did with their drawings," the dad, going by the username tatsputin on a Reddit thread about the drawing, wrote.

Some of the pictures he brought to life with colored pencil, while others he used digital technology. Due to an overwhelming show of support favoring his colored pencil versions on Reddit, the dad wrote that it's the medium he'll be sticking with from now on.

For now, the colored pictures decorate the family's house, but the dad wrote that his wife wants him to publish them in a book.

"Personally I've just been doing this because the kids love it, and I love collaborating with them and seeing their faces when the pictures go in a frame and up on the wall," he wrote.

Check out more of the images in the dad's Imgur gallery. The dad also posted a gallery of line drawings his children have done that are "intimidating" for him to tackle with his colored pencils, and some images they filled in themselves.
