Authorities Make Narcotics-Related Arrest After Conducting Raid on Justin Bieber's Home

"We didn't do this search warrant to send a message."

A narcotics-related arrest was made at Justin Beiber's home Tuesday as authorities executed a search warrant on the pop star's house over a purported egg-throwing incident, authorities said.

An L.A. County Sheriff's spokesman did not identify the suspect arrested at a press conference, but noted it was not Bieber and said the arrest involved cocaine. TMZ reported that rapper "Lil Za" was the individual taken into custody.

The sheriff's spokesman denied that the raid involving over a dozen officers was due to Bieber's fame.

"We didn't do this search warrant to send a message," he said. "That's not what we do."

"None of this has anything to do with him (Bieber) being a celebrity," the spokesman added. "This is a felony crime."

The search warrant was in connection to a recent egg throwing incident in which a neighbor alleges the 19-year-old singer hurled eggs at his home. According to authorities, an estimated $20,000 of damage was done.

"I get the eggs don't sound to serious, but it rises to the level of a felony," the sheriff's spokesman said, noting the singer had not been "exonerated" from it following the raid on his home.

According to KTLA, Bieber lives in an affluent, gated community 30 miles from downtown L.A.

Authorities hoped to find surveillance footage from the singer's home that might have captured the egg throwing incident.
