Surveillance Video Turns Would-Be Burglar Into the Laughing Stock of the Criminal World
January 16, 2014
"It's much funnier on the video."
A would-be crook's attempt to break into a Chicago bar was thwarted by the one thing he apparently forgot to plan for: A door.
The criminal was caught on surveillance video trying to forcibly pull open a door that actually requires a push. He spent several minutes trying to get the door open before fleeing the scene on Friday.
To make the situation even more embarrassing for the untalented burglar, a sticker on the outside of the door reads: "PUSH."
The bar's owner, Joe Lin, told DNAinfo Chicago that all he had to do was push the door and he probably would have been able to break in.
"It's much funnier on the video, but the still shots show him pulling on the door. He could have pushed it," he said.
