The Amazing Loyalty a Dog Has Demonstrated for His Owner Proves That Dogs Truly Are 'Man's Best Friend
April 12, 2014
If you need proof that a dog is man's best friend, look no further.
Late last month, Lauri da Costa — a homeless man living in Brazil — was the victim of a violent assault that landed him in the hospital, according to a local news outlet.
While being treated for his injuries, his loyal dog Seco sat patiently out front awaiting his return.
But what was supposed to be a short visit morphed into a long stay. Doctors had reportedly discovered Lauri had melanoma on his face and would need to stay longer to have it surgically removed.
Meanwhile, Seco remained outside, undeterred.
Days went by, but the loyal dog refused to abandon his post. Hospital staff eventually noticed Seco, reportedly providing water and food for him as he waited.
Finally, on day eight, the hospital made an exception and permitted Seco to visit Lauri. The touching moment was captured on video:
The footage shows Secco lick his owner's face, furiously wagging his tail in excitement.
Seco has since returned to his post, waiting for Lauri to recover and be discharged. But, one thing is for certain: When Lauri does finally leave, he will have a companion eager to greet him as he walks out the door.
