Caught on Video: Man's Brutal Punch to the Face of an Unsuspecting Pedestrian in the Middle of NYC Street

The victim fell backward, hit his head on the street, and was rushed to a local hospital where he was in critical condition.

Police were still searching Wednesday morning for a man caught on surveillance video throwing a single punch to the head of another man in the Hell's Kitchen section of New York City, leaving the victim in critical condition.

The surveillance clip released by police shows two men, reportedly strangers, walking near the corner of 9th Avenue and West 55th Street on Tuesday evening when one suddenly turns on the other, punching him square in the face.

The victim fell backward, hit his head on the street, and was rushed to a local hospital where he was in critical condition.

Police on Wednesday morning told TheBlaze there was no update on the man's condition.

Video shows the attacker immediately fleeing the scene after throwing the punch.

Police said the blond-haired attacker is in his 30s and was wearing a turquoise shirt, cut-off skinny-jean shorts and sneakers.
