News Crew Knocks on 88-Year-Old Detroit Man's Door to Ask for an Interview — He Responds With Gunfire

A reporter with WXYZ-TV in Detroit had no idea he would be dodging bullets after he knocked on an elderly man’s door to request an interview. The man, identified only as an 88-year-old male, was not previously accused of any wrongdoing and was recently the victim of a home invasion.

Reporter Jonathan Carlson is seen on video trying to talk to the man through his door. Carlson identified himself several times as a reporter and asked the man if he wanted to explain what happened to him. The man was reportedly tied up and robbed at gunpoint recently.

But things reportedly took a dramatic turn when the man came to the door with a handgun. As the reporter and his crew, now in fear for their lives, took off running as the man stepped on his porch and fired off a shot. That part of the incident was not captured on video.

Luckily, no one was hit by the bullet. Police responded to the incident and arrested the man.
