‘That Happened’: The Head-Scratching Tweet From an Official EPA Account That Had Some People ‘Howling’ With Laughter
July 21, 2014
"This is the world we now live in."
An official Twitter account affiliated with the Environmental Protection Agency sent out a perplexing tweet Monday night, igniting the Internet.
"I'm now a C-List celebrity in Kim Kardashian: Hollywood. Come join me and become famous too by playing on iPhone!" the tweet said.
Some users suspected that the EPA's Twitter account had been compromised, though it was not immediately clear if that was the case.
It is also possible the account's social media manager intended to push the tweet to his or her personal account, but made a mistake in the process and sent it to the wrong account.
Regardless, users on Twitter immediately used the incident to poke fun at the federal agency.
