Report: NFL Star Indicted for Allegedly Disciplining Son With a 'Switch
September 12, 2014
The Vikings organization is "in the process of gathering information regarding the legal situation."
Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson has been indicted in Montgomery County, Texas, in a case involving alleged “reckless or negligent injury to a child,” KRIV-TV reports, citing the NFL star’s attorney Rusty Hardin.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport later reported that the indictment involves the "disciplining of a son with a switch."
Hardin confirmed the indictment and released a statement on Friday:

The Vikings issued a statement after reports surfaced on the indictment, saying the team is currently “in the process of gathering information regarding the legal situation.” Later on Friday, the team announced Peterson had been deactivated for Sunday's game against the New England Patriots.
Peterson is one of the top running backs in the NFL and has rushed for over 10,000 yards in eight seasons with the Vikings.
