Man Allegedly Broke Into Trailer Home, Started Attacking Woman. Moments Later, the Actions of an 11-Year-Old Girl Had Him Fleeing the Scene.

An 11-year-old girl shot an intruder who broke into a trailer home Wednesday and started attacking her mother, the Oklahoma City Police Department said.

According to KTUL-TV, Leonard Demon Henry, 25, broke through a glass door and started to stab his ex-girlfriend, a police report said.

That's when the woman's daughter took action.

Police said the 11-year-old girl shot the 25-year-old twice, KTUL reported. Five children were home at the time and another dialed 911.

When authorities arrived at the scene, they say they found him fleeing the scene with a gunshot wound.

The man is in the hospital in serious condition, police say. The woman is in stable condition.

Neighbor Lataisha Lewis told KTUL she had seen him around the area before.

"The guy has been coming around here," Lewis said. "He's been going around her trailer and going to her door, knocking on her window and beating real hard. Ran up his vehicle motors and things like that. And then this morning we hear the boom boom and the commotion and the breaking of the glass and come outside and see what's going on."

According to KTUL, the children are in protective custody.
