They're bizarre, beautiful, and sometimes terrifying pictures, showing everything from a woman dangling over Dubai to an elephant with butterfly wing ears.
And they were made using the very type of phone many of us carry in our pockets.
Robert Jahns is a web denizen who uses his Instagram account for a lot more than the typical sepia-toned selfies, creating instead striking (and impossible) images to share with the world.
Jahns' tools are pretty basic: a gaggle of apps — ArtStudio, Filterstorm, PhotoForge2, VSCOcam and Snapseed — on his iPhone 5S, photos from collaborators and himself and, most importantly, some diligent work.
"Some edits require about two hours," Jahns told Mashable, "and other edits require several days."
"I love rooftop views and urban exploration," he added. "I really dig dance/people photography and landscapes as well."
