Woman Dies After Shooting Herself in the Head Accidentally...With a Gun She Reportedly Bought to Defend Herself in Ferguson

"...ready for Ferguson..."

She bought a gun to handle violence in Ferguson.

But she wasn't ready to handle the gun.

Becca Campbell apparently shot herself in the head accidentally on Friday night with a gun she bought for self-defense, police sources told CNN.

She died of the injury.

Campbell was riding in her 33-year-old boyfriend's car, sources said, waving her gun around and joking that she was ready for Ferguson, referencing the violent protests that have wracked the Missouri town since August.

Her boyfriend allegedly told investigators that he ducked to avoid the gun before rear-ending another vehicle, which caused the gun to go off and left Campbell with a bullet in her head.

She died hours later in the hospital, CNN reported.
