The Euro is getting hammered.
The continental currency hit a 9-year low against the U.S. dollar Monday morning, dropping below $1.19.
Just before 8 a.m. EST, the Euro was trading at $1.1893, according to Bloomberg.

As Business Insider noted, some analysts say the Euro could fall even further as the European currency is plagued by weak Southern European economies and uncertainty about what actions the European Central Bank might take in the coming year.

The 19-member Euro zone is also threatened by the possibility that Greece will pull out of the currency union altogether.
