George Zimmerman Arrested, Charged With Aggravated Assault With a Weapon, Denied Bail (UPDATE)

UPDATE: George Zimmerman was jailed for allegedly chucking a wine bottle at his girlfriend on Friday night, WFTV-TV reporter Blaine Tolison reported Saturday morning.

The Associated Press reported that Zimmerman's bond was set at $5,000 during his Saturday morning court appearance.

He was ordered by a judge to surrender any weapons, though the AP confirmed that the Friday night incident did not involve a firearm, and Zimmerman was also ordered to stay out of Volusia County, where the alleged victim lives.

George Zimmerman was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a weapon Friday evening, NBC News reported.

Zimmerman is due in court at 9 a.m. on Saturday, according to his Seminole County booking information.

He was denied bail.

He was arrested at 10:10 p.m. Friday by Lake Mary, Florida, police, and his charges also include domestic violence, WTVT reported.

More information on his arrest was not immediately available.

Zimmerman gained national attention for his shooting of Trayvon Martin. He was found "not guilty" of murder in that case, but since then has had a number of run-ins with law enforcement.
