Don Can Think Whatever He Wants': Don Lemon's Mic Cut Following Awkward Exchange With Jake Tapper

"So, I mean, Don can think whatever he wants."

CNN host Don Lemon's mic appeared to be cut Friday afternoon following an awkward exchange with "The Lead" host Jake Tapper.

Both Lemon and Tapper were brought on by Brooke Baldwin to provide analysis on President Barack Obama's powerful eulogy for the Rev. Clementa Pinckney in Charleston, South Carolina.

Tapper said the speech delivered by the president Friday reminded him of the Obama he covered during the 2008 election.

Lemon disagreed.

"Listen, I love my colleague Jake Tapper," Lemon said. "This is different than him as a community organizer, when he was a state senator ... this was different."

After Lemon concluded his analysis, Tapper addressed what his colleague said.

"Well, I mean, I'm just going by reporting. I covered him on the campaign trail for two years and then at the White House for four. So, I mean, Don can think whatever he wants," Tapper said.

Moments later, as the two briefly talked over each other, Lemon's mic appeared to be cut. Tapper continued speaking with Baldwin before the segment concluded.
