Rand Paul's Harsh Words for Planned Parenthood: 'I Don't Know How They...Live With Themselves

Republican presidential candidate Rand Paul on Tuesday said he doesn't know how the abortionists at Planned Parenthood, and those who are seemingly involved in the harvesting and selling of the aborted babies' organs, live with themselves.

"The videos are incredibly disturbing," Paul said on The Glenn Beck Program. "When I heard about them using ultrasounds to manipulate the baby into a position so it could be removed a little bit at a time so they could get at the baby's organs -- kidneys, livers. And the sort of the callous disregard by the doctor saying, 'Oh yeah, livers are popular.' It's hard to hear that."

Paul said rarely is the debate framed "in such sharp relief."

"We often have the debate where the other side wants to call it 'tissue.' But when we're talking about lungs, brains, hearts, livers, I think it ... should make all people shudder that we're doing this," he said. "I don't know how anyone could do that day in and day out, knowing that you're pulling out the pieces of a baby. I mean, I don't know how they do it and how they live with themselves."

Paul led the fight in the Senate to defund Planned Parenthood, and said the accusations that he is going after women's healthcare are "just untrue."

"There are 9,000 community health centers. We've thrown more federal money at healthcare than we ever have in the history of time," he said. "You can't go a block in our country and not find something for free. ... So 9,000 free government clinics; 700 Planned Parenthood. The only difference is Planned Parenthood offers abortion."

Paul said Planned Parenthood is a "front for abortion," but they are well-defended in government because "they're also huge funders of the Democrat Party and huge funders of liberals."

Beck said "there has never been a more sugar-coated and socially-accepted genocide in the history of the planet," and pro-choice individuals should be thinking today: "Wow, have I been lied to? I've been standing up for choice. Is this what I've been supporting?"

"Not just conservatives, I know pro-choice women and you know what? They're horrified by this," Paul agreed. "It's a rare person who thinks fully-formed babies ought to be taken out."

Paul said part of the investigation into Planned Parenthood should be what kind of consent is being obtained by the women having the abortions.

"I'm guessing when this consent is being obtained that no one is telling them, 'We're going to harvest your baby's organs,'" Paul said.
