Krauthammer, Fox News Panel Respond to ‘Tough Guy’ Donald Trump’s ‘Ridiculous’ Attacks on Network
August 07, 2015
"This is a guy who is running as the tough guy."
Conservative pundit Charles Krauthammer and a Fox News panel responded Friday afternoon to criticism leveled against the network by Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.
Following Thursday night's debate, Trump went on a tirade against Fox News, blasting host Megyn Kelly and calling for Krauthammer to be fired.
During Friday's episode of "Special Report," Krauthammer responded.
"This is a guy who is running as the tough guy. The foundation of his campaign is that our negotiators, our president, our administration is stupid. They're weak. They get kicked over in negotiations. ... And now he says that he was treated not nicely by three Fox News anchors. It doesn't quite fit. It is extremely upset I think," Krauthammer said.
Contributor Kirsten Powers seemingly agreed with that analysis, adding that the questions were "absolutely fair." She added that the "frontrunner always gets more questions" and that if he can't answer them "he shouldn't be running for president."
National Review's Jonah Goldberg piled on, saying it was "ridiculous" to criticize the network for asking Trump if he would pledge not to run as a third party candidate.
