UPDATE 12:24 p.m. ET: The suspect in the fatal on-air shooting of reporter Alison Parker, 24, and photographer Adam Ward, 27, is former WDBJ-TV employee Vester Lee Flanagan, the Augusta County Sheriff’s Department confirmed to TheBlaze on Wednesday.

An unidentified gunman fatally shot a reporter and photographer for a Virginia CBS affiliate in the middle of a live interview Wednesday morning, the station confirmed.
The victims have been identified as Alison Parker, 24, and Adam Ward, 27, of WDBJ-TV in Roanoke. The woman being interviewed, identified as Vicki Gardner, was shot in the back and in surgery on Wednesday, CNN's Brian Stelter reported.

WDBJ general manager came on the air and said "It's my very very sad duty to report... that Alison and Adam died this morning."

Police were reportedly on the scene at Bridgewater Plaza in Moneta, Virginia, investigating and searching for the shooter on Wednesday morning after terrifying video showed the moment the gunman opened fire.
A screengrab that emerged from the shocking video footage that captured part of the shooting appears to show the suspect who opened fire.

WDBJ General Manager Jeff Marks said the station is unaware who the shooter is or what his motive might have been.
