Read Veteran Texas Officer's Blunt Warning About the Future of Law Enforcement — and Take Note of the Final Four Words

"I have been a police officer for over 26 years and I must tell you that the last year has been the hardest in my career."

A veteran police officer in Plano, Texas, warned Americans in a lengthy Facebook post that soon there will be no more officers “willing to stand up for those who need it most during the worst of times” if the current anti-police climate continues to get worse.

The post, authored by Officer Ricky Hendrix of the Plano Police Department, had been shared over 1,000 times as of Tuesday afternoon.

“I have been a police officer for over 26 years and I must tell you that the last year has been the hardest in my career. It feels like a total sense of abandonment by the people who Law Enforcement Officers care about the most,” he wrote. “I am tired and I worry about what the future holds for new officers that take up this job.”

After recalling several harrowing incidents he has been involved with as a law enforcement officer, Hendrix admitted he can no longer encourage others to seek a job in law enforcement. But he wants that to change.

“For many years I would encourage young people to seek a career in law enforcement but in the present climate I can't bring myself to encourage anyone to take up this task. Something has to change or there will be no one willing to stand up for those who need it the most during the worst of times,” he added.

The officer concluded with four simple words: “We need your help.”

Henrix confirmed to TheBlaze that he is an officer with the Plano Police Department, but did not immediately respond to a request for an interview.
