Mia Love Makes Her 2016 Endorsement: 'I Watched Him Inspire People

"He had a rally. And he talked about his family. And he talked about his love for this country."

Rep. Mia Love (R-Utah) endorsed Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) for president Thursday, telling Fox News that she made the decision when she saw him speak in Utah and "inspire people."

"He had a rally. And he talked about his family. And he talked about his love for this country," she said. "And I realized my story is so similar to his. He has a positive agenda moving forward. And or the first time in a long time, I felt someone who really loves this country and doesn't take for granted the benefits that this country has."

Love said that she appreciated Rubio not treating Utah like a flyover state and said she is impressed by his foreign policy credentials.

"He's been talking about these threats from the beginning," Love said. "He talked about ISIS. He's very strong when it comes to foreign policy, national defense. And this is a time we need a president in our country that is going to make sure we are strong."

"Marco is the right person to do that," she concluded.

Love's endorsement comes as Rubio sees a slow but steady rise in the polls.
