Shooting at New Orleans Playground Sends at Least 16 to Hospitals

They saw a man with a silver machine gun ...

Police said at least 16 people were taken to hospitals Sunday after a shooting at a New Orleans playground, WWL-TV reported.

Hundreds gathered at Bunny Friend Park for a party that followed the Nine Times Social Aide & Pleasure Club's annual "second line" when gunfire erupted at about 7 p.m., NOLA.com reported. WWL indicated the shooting occurred during the filming of a music video.

NOLA added that revelers scattered when shots were fired and that three people said they saw a man with a silver machine gun head toward Louisa Avenue. Those witnesses added to the outlet that they heard more gunshots within the crowd as the man with the silver machine gun ran off.

Witnesses told NOLA that police who'd been monitoring the party were beginning to leave when the shooting began. Victims were seen lying on the ground, the outlet added.
