Obama Sends a Message to the Little Girl Who Cried Because He's Leaving Office Next Year: 'I'm Not Going Anywhere

"tell her to dry her tears ..."

President Barack Obama caught wind of the viral video showing a little girl crying when she learned Obama is leaving office next January — and he sent a message to her Saturday on the same Facebook page where her video is posted.

Obama, writing to the girl's grandmother Caprina D. Harris, said "tell her to dry her tears, because I'm not going anywhere."

"Once I leave the White House, I'll still be a citizen just like her," Obama continued. "And when she grows up, she can get involved right alongside me. In the meantime, I'll keep an eye out for her letter, and we'll always get to celebrate our birthdays together!"
