The explosion caused minor damage to the surrounding area.
An improvised explosive device was detonated late Sunday evening in Hansford, West Virginia, according to WCHS-TV.
According WCHS-TV, the bomb's explosion caused minor damage to the surrounding area and “the blast left behind gunpowder on street signs and tree branches, dirt and grass just strewn across the ground.”
The local fire department responded to the call late Sunday evening, and put out a fire before bomb technicians from the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Department were called to the scene. Pieces of the devices are being analyzed by authorities.
An investigation is underway, and the sheriff’s office has yet to comment on a potential motive or suspect.
