Attorney General Loretta Lynch Declines to Answer Key Question on Hillary Clinton Email Scandal When Grilled by Bret Baier
March 01, 2016
"We don't comment on specifics."
Attorney General Loretta Lynch declined to answer a key question on the FBI's investigation into Hillary Clinton's emails, telling Fox News' Bret Baier during a recent interview, "We don't comment on specifics."
But as Baier noted following her answer, "there's no law" that prevents her from saying if a grand jury has been convened in a case, if the public already knows about an investigation into a person or subject.
"So has one [a grand jury] been convened?" the Fox News anchor again asked.
Lynch, again, dodged the question.
"We don't comment on specifics," she said. "This is a matter that's being handled like any other review that we do into how any agency has handled classified information."
Asked which section of the Justice Department is working the case, Lynch said "we don't go into that either."
