A former Trump University salesman was featured in a new ad posted online Thursday, saying in the 60-second spot that he quit so it would "be easier to sleep at night."
The salesman, identified as Cliff, said his job was to sell people on Trump University, a Donald Trump venture that is the subject of two-class action lawsuits.
"I'm here to tell the true story about it," he said at the outset of the ad produced by American Future Fund.
Cliff said that he fielded "non-stop calls with complaints."
"People just totally unhappy with the course," he said. "I was ashamed to work there."
Cliff said that the university had a "D" rating from the Better Business Bureau, something Trump has contested.
Trump University took prominence in the 2016 campaign when Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) used it — along with other failed ventures by Trump — to slam the billionaire candidate.
