Egypt TV Host Says Hillary Clinton Is an 'Old Bag' and 'Just as Bad' as Trump

"Now you are pretending to be a two-winged angel."

An Egyptian television host called Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton an “old bag” as he accused her of creating the problems in Syria, Libya and Iraq.

Television host Mohamed Al-Ghiety – who has previously voiced controversial statements – opined that the Democratic candidate was “just as bad” as Republican candidate Donald Trump.

“That old bag who is a candidate for U.S. president, she and Trump are just as bad,” Al-Ghiety said according to excerpts translated by the Middle East Media Research Institute.

The television presenter referred to an interview Clinton gave to CBS’s Face the Nation on March 6 in which she asserted that if the U.S., NATO and other world powers had not intervened in Libya, the situation there might have resembled the deterioration in Syria.

Asked about the situation in Libya, Clinton told CBS, “Well, no, it's not good. I'm not saying that it is. But it's sure better than Syria. I think maybe 1,500 people were killed last year compared to probably 150,000 in Syria.”

“What she said is illogical. She said, ‘As far as I can tell, 1,500 deaths in Libya are better than 150,000.’ That comparison is illogical and unjust, because you are the cause for what happened in Syria – you, Turkey and Qatar,” Al-Ghiety said.

“You are the cause for what happened in Syria and for what happened in Iraq before that and in Libya after. Now you are pretending to be a two-winged angel and say that you ousted Gadhafi in order to save the people from a corrupt tyrant,” he said.

The host has previously made controversial statements including in 2014 accusing former Israeli justice minister Tzipi Livni of having had sex with Arab leaders "in order to accomplish the supreme goals of Israel."

Al-Ghiety made his comments about Clinton on his Tahrir TV talk show on March 7.
