President Barack Obama sharply rebuked Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump Friday, saying at a press conference that the real estate mogul doesn't appear to know much about the "world generally."
The president's comments came while speaking to reporters at the Nuclear Security Summit. Obama was asked whether Trump's latest comments on potentially arming Japan and South Korea with nuclear weapons, as well as his refusal to pledge not to use nuclear weapons if elected, came up during the conference.
Obama confirmed that Trump briefly came up at the summit, then repudiated the brash billionaire in blunt terms.
“The person who made the statements doesn’t know much about foreign policy or nuclear policy or the Korean peninsula or the world generally,” Obama said.
