Niece of Rosa Parks Rips Ben Carson for His Comments on Harriet Tubman Replacing Jackson on $20 Bill

The niece of civil rights icon Rosa Parks blasted former Republican presidential contender Ben Carson for comments he made on the Fox Business Network reacting to news Harriet Tubman will replace Andrew Jackson on the $20 bill.

Sheila Keys told celebrity-gossip website TMZ that the retired neurosurgeon perhaps "needs surgery on his brain" and failed to understand Tubman's contributions to America.

Carson had said earlier that he thought Jackson was a "tremendous president" and wondered why he would be removed from the $20 bill.

"Andrew Jackson was the last president who actually balanced the federal budget," he told host Neil Cavuto. "Where we had no national debt…in honor of that we kick him off the money"

Carson then suggested the Treasury "find another way" to honor Tubman.

"I love Harriet Tubman, I love what she did. But can we find another way to honor her. Maybe a $2 bill?”"
