WikiLeaks Says It Has Released Almost 20,000 Democratic National Committee Emails

Here's what some staffers wrote about Sen. Bernie Sanders.

Just days before the Democratic Party’s convention, WikiLeaks has released what it says are 19,252 emails from staffers at the Democratic National Committee.

WikiLeaks, the infamous whistleblowing site founded by Julian Assange, released the emails Friday, calling the release “part one of our new Hillary Leaks series.”

One of the emails purportedly sent by a DNC staffer discusses constructing “a good Bernie narrative” about how the Vermont senator’s campaign “was a mess.”

In another purported email titled “No s**t,” a staffer speculates on whether they can target Sanders’ faith, or lack thereof.

“My Southern Baptist peeps would draw a big difference between a Jew and an atheist,” the email read.

It is not yet clear how WikiLeaks obtained the emails allegedly sent by staffers, but the leak comes shortly after the DNC was hacked by people allegedly connected to the Russian government.
