Trump Campaign Says GOP Candidate Didn’t Know Interview Would Air on Kremlin-Backed RT
September 09, 2016
"Nobody said it was going to be on Russian TV."
Donald Trump's campaign maintained Friday that an interview with the Republican presidential nominee that aired on a Kremlin-backed news outlet was never meant for that channel.
During his interview with Larry King, which aired on Russia Today, Trump criticized U.S. foreign policy decisions such as the Iraq War. However, according to Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway, that interview was never meant to air on Russia Today; instead, it was intended for King's own podcast.
"As you know, former CNN superstar Larry King has a podcast and Mr. Trump went on his podcast," Conway said during an interview with CNN. "Nobody said it was going to be on Russian TV."

Conway then contended that Americans "agree with Donald Trump that the Iraq War was a mistake," according to poll numbers.
