Tom Cotton calls for deporting pro-Hamas foreign nationals from the US

Republican Sen. Tom Cotton of Arkansas is calling for the deportation of foreign nationals who have expressed support for Hamas and the terror group's brutal attacks against Israel.

"I write to urge you to immediately deport any foreign national—including and especially any alien on a student visa—that has expressed support for Hamas and its murderous attacks on Israel," Cotton wrote in a letter to Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.

"Federal law is clear that any alien who 'endorses or espouses terrorist activity or persuades others to endorse or espouse terrorist activity or support a terrorist organization' is inadmissible and must be deported," the senator wrote.

Hamas terrorists slaughtered people in Israel, including children.

Some Harvard student groups joined a statement declaring, "We ... hold the Israeli regime entirely responsible for all unfolding violence."

Cotton suggested starting by deporting foreign students who "signed onto or shared approvingly the anti-Semitic letter."

"The appalling explosion of anti-Semitism in the United States over the past few weeks should disturb anyone who shares American values. While American citizens may have a First Amendment right to speak disgusting vitriol if they so choose, no foreign national has a right to advocate for terrorism in the United States," Cotton noted.

Cotton opposes the idea of America supplying aid to Gaza, contending that such assistance would serve to bolster Hamas.

"The reality is because Hamas is in control, letting aid into Gaza is resupplying Hamas. In the long run, the best way to aid the Palestinian people is for Hamas to be completely destroyed," the lawmaker tweeted.

Some Democratic lawmakers are pushing a resolution that would pressure the Biden administration to call for a ceasefire.

"Demanding a cease-fire is calling for Hamas to get away with massacring Israelis and Americans. It's the pro-Hamas position," Cotton has tweeted.
