Pastor's child recorded moment dad was shot and killed after HOA feud with neighbor: 'Your mind just can't process that'

The final moments of a pastor's life were captured on video recorded by a child of the slain Las Vegas man. A new lawsuit accuses a next-door neighbor of murdering the pastor and shooting his wife following an HOA dispute.

Nick Davi, a 46-year-old pastor at Grace Point Church in North Las Vegas, was gunned down in front of his townhouse in the gated Courts of Aliante community in Nevada.

Davi, his wife, and two children were leaving their home on Dec. 29, 2023. Their next-door neighbor Joe Junio allegedly pulled into the Davis' driveway as they were about to depart.

According to video taken by one of the Davi children sitting inside a vehicle, someone in the family shouted at Junio, "Why don’t you leave us alone? We’ve had enough."

The pastor allegedly asked Junio, "What’s your problem with us?"

As he exited the car and stepped toward Junio's vehicle, the neighbor reportedly shot Junio. The armed neighbor then shot the pastor's wife, Sarah Davi.

Sarah survived the shooting. However, Nick was shot and killed in front of his children — ages 12 and 15.

Ty Neal — a fellow pastor of Grace Point Church — told KVVU-TV of the tragic shooting, "Your mind just can’t process that."

Junio, 36, was arrested on the same day as the shooting. She was charged with open murder with a deadly weapon, attempted murder, battery, child abuse/neglect, and discharging a gun/weapon where a person might be endangered.

Junio is being held on $300,000 bail at the Clark County Detention Center.

The pastor's widow filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Junio on Jan. 19. Sarah Davi is seeking an unspecified amount in damages.

The lawsuit accuses Junio of terrorizing the family for weeks before reportedly shooting and killing the pastor in his driveway.

The family reportedly lodged a complaint with their community's homeowners association against Junio for having chickens and dogs around her property.

However, Junio exhibited "escalating threatening behavior" after the family filed the complaint with the HOA, KLAS-TV reported. The family allegedly called the police twice in December regarding Junio's behavior.

Junio purportedly threw rocks into the family's yard. She allegedly "ran her finger across her throat in a cutting motion and told them they were next," police said.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reported, "She was also accused of throwing a large amount of dog feces and flooding Nicholas and Sarah Davi’s home. The couple had filed a restraining order, moved out of the home, and had been sleeping elsewhere before the killing, police said."

Junio — who was licensed with the Nevada Real Estate Division — allegedly posted an article on her Facebook titled "Avoiding a Nightmare Neighbor When Buying a Home." The Realty Times article describes a "nightmare neighbor" as someone who "complains if your garbage cans are still out five minutes after trash pickup" and "if a dog even sniffs his lawn." The article states that a nightmare neighbor is to be "avoided at all costs."

The lawsuit says of the HOA's role in the fatal shooting, "The homeowners association knew or should have known that Defendant would likely perform violent actions against deceased and Plaintiff as a result of on-going association dispute."

The lawsuit also claims Junio did not have a license or permit to carry a firearm and that she borrowed the gun from another person.

Junio is scheduled for a preliminary court hearing on March 4.
