Road-rage thug knocks out male motorist, 18, threatens to sexually assault victim's sister, 15, who's in front seat, cops say

A 57-year-old male was arrested and jailed earlier this week after police in Gwinnett County, Georgia, said he physically attacked an 18-year-old male driver and threatened to sexually assault the victim's 15-year-old sister in a fit of road rage late last month.

What are the details?

The victim on Feb. 28 told police he and the driver of a blue pickup truck exchanged "hand gestures" — according to WSB-TV, the victim said they “flipped each other off” — in the vicinity of Peachtree Industrial Boulevard and R.H. Smith Blvd.

The victim told police the driver of the truck began to follow him through turns on various streets and even tried running him off the road.

The victim — whose 15-year-old sister was in the front passenger seat — pulled into a private driveway on Buford Dam Road near Marina Way, police said, after which the victim said the driver of the truck pulled in behind him, exited his vehicle, and then began to punch him repeatedly in the face through the window.

Police said the driver of the truck told the victim he would sexually assault his “girlfriend” — meaning his sister in the passenger seat — and the suspect continued to punch him after the victim exited the vehicle. Soon, the victim lost consciousness, police said.

When he awoke, the victim called police to report the incident, authorities said.

Utilizing FLOCK — a crime-prevention system that uses license plate recognition technology, gunshot detection, and video — police said they found Duane Andrew Sudderth at his Flowery Branch home Sunday.

Sudderth was arrested and booked into the Gwinnett County Jail on charges of aggravated battery, two counts of aggravated assault, terroristic threats, cruelty to children in the first degree and third degree, aggressive driving, and entering auto, police said, adding that he's being held without bond.

The victim's father on Monday told WSB his son is recovering and is back at high school and work.
