Taylor Swift’s father reportedly deletes Facebook account after sharing conservative views

This seems rather unfortunate

Taylor Swift's father, Scott Swift, reportedly deleted his personal Facebook account after receiving backlash for his purported conservative-leaning remarks on the social media site.

Steve's reported decision to shut off his page comes almost simultaneously with the release of his daughter's latest album, which many people say will be politically charged and will embrace decidedly leftist ideals.

What are the details?

Scott Swift reportedly deleted his page after his daughter shared a joke on Tumblr that he'd made on his personal page.

The Tumblr post, according to the Daily Mail, "was quickly deleted and her Father's Facebook also vanished."

The outlet reported that Taylor fans discovered "right-leaning memes" on her dad's page, reportedly including remarks on immigration, negative remarks about Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), and support for the Blue Lives Matter movement.

One meme in question reportedly said, "The IRS has returned my tax return to me this year after I apparently answered one of the questions incorrectly. ... In response to the question, 'Do you have anyone dependent on you?' I wrote: '9.5 million illegal immigrants, 1.1 million crackheads, 3.4 million unemployable scroungers, 80,000 criminals in over 85 prisons plus 650 idiots in Washington.' The IRS stated the answer I gave was 'unacceptable!' I then wrote back "Who did I leave out???'"

The outlet noted that "it is unclear whether the posts were genuine."

What else?

A representative for the 29-year-old entertainer did not respond to the Daily Mail's request for comment.

Taylor Swift is set to release her new album, "Lover," on Friday, which is described as having "left-leaning 'political undertones.'"
