A new poll shows that the approval rating for President Donald Trump among Americans has actually grown despite the constant drumbeat of new accusations from Democrats seeking impeachment.
The poll from HarrisX and The Hill shows that the approval rating for the president is at 49 percent, the highest rating he's received thus far this year.
This represents a 2 percentage point gain from a previous poll in September.
The poll was conducted a week after Democrats announced the commencement of a formal impeachment inquiry against the president based on allegations from a government whistleblower.
While some polls have shown the Democratic presidential candidates to have an edge over the president in the 2020 re-election campaign, Trump has claimed that impeachment proceedings have made him more popular.
Although this latest approval rating is highest for the current year, it falls short of the high rating of 51 percent approval from August of the previous year.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) caved to far left progressive demands in her party to begin impeachment proceedings against Trump after a whistleblower accused the president of improper demands during a phone call with the Ukrainian president.
Another poll shows that support for impeachment has grown, but is still far below reaching a majority of Americans.
