President Trump SOTU guest whose brother was murdered blasts Pelosi after she rips president's speech: 'Ripped our hearts out'
February 05, 2020
He makes a fine point
Jody Jones, whose brother Rocky was fatally shot by an illegal alien in 2018, appeared on Fox News' "Fox & Friends" on Wednesday where he blasted House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) for tearing up President Donald Trump's State of the Union speech.
Following the president's speech — which drew a raucous applause from Republicans — Pelosi snatched up a copy of Trump's speech and tore it up on live television.
What are the details?
Calling the move "probably the most disrespectful thing I have ever seen in my life," Jones said that Pelosi's action "felt like she ripped our hearts out."
"We couldn't believe it," Jones added. "I don't care how you feel about somebody. That was probably the most disrespectful thing I have ever seen in my life. Because when she did that, it tore us up. We couldn't believe it."
Jones was in attendance during Tuesday night's State of the Union address in Congress as one of Trump's special guests to highlight the need to dissolve sanctuary cities and their dangerous policies.
"I don't care how you feel about somebody," he said. "Think of other people and the others involved, please. Because what you did was very disrespectful, and it really ripped our hearts out."
Jones said that the murder brought his "tight-knit" family together even more.
“We are a pretty tight-knit family," he said. “It's really actually made us closer, and with the president inviting us, what an honor that was just to honor our brother and he sure did that."
