On this week’s “Jacki Daily Show,” Jacki exposes the many ways our modern society depends on fossil fuels, though we often don't realize it.
"It's very easy to talk the talk [of the extreme green movement.] It's very easy to say you support the Paris Climate Accord or the Clean Power Plan when you don't understand what these things mean for you life," said Jacki. "The worst is the 'keep it in the ground' people who think ... that we're all just going to stop using [fossil fuels,] and we're all going to move to solar and wind, and it's going to be a great future because fossil fuels are dangerous and not relevant to their lives. Of course, this is so - how do I say it respectfully - badly uninformed."
Here are just a few of the everyday products that are made from petrochemicals or manufactured with fossil fuels:
- Clothing, accessories, and shoes: polyester, nylon taffeta, vinyl, plastic, rubber, etc.
- Cosmetics and sundries: mascara, lipstick, moisturizers, shampoos, feminine hygiene products, etc.
- Medications and healthcare products
- Infant-care products, etc.
"How are you going to live without all this stuff? Are you serious? Are you ready to give this up?" said Jacki. Then specifically addressing women, she asked, "Are you ready to return to the days of the pioneer women? Think about it."
Jacki also talks Saudi Arabia, CPAC, and “The American” rodeo, in this pocast. Listen to the full podcast above.
