Lawsuit alleges White House, Fox News connection for this fake news story
August 01, 2017
The Trump administration is fielding an odd story about President Donald Trump’s possible connections with a Fox News story that was later retracted. What is going on, and when will the breaking news stop? Glenn Beck, Pat Gray and Stu Burguiere tried to catch up on Tuesday’s “The Glenn Beck Radio Program.”
“Just yesterday, we got Scaramucci leaving, we got that Trump reportedly dictated the Donald Trump, Jr. statement,” Stu listed some of the latest big stories from the White House.
Stu parsed the latest bizarre news connected to the administration: A lawsuit alleges that Fox News worked with a wealthy Trump supporter to concoct a bombshell report about Seth Rich, the Democratic aide who was shot and killed last year.
According to the lawsuit, Trump supporter Ed Butowsky funded the Fox News report – later found to be spurious – bragging in a voicemail that Trump himself had read the draft. Fox News retracted the story in May, saying it “was not initially subjected to the high degree of editorial scrutiny we require for all our reporting.”
